I love going on vacations with my family, so let me tell you about them. In 2019 me and my family went on a vacation to Turks and Caicos. Turks and Caicos is a beautiful island. Turks and Caicos is a British territory southeast of the Bahamas. Turks and Caicos is home to a lot of different types of people. The island has great food too. My favorite thing about going there is the crystal clear beaches. At the great beaches you can find many different restaurants and you can find pretty shells.
I loved Turks and Caicos.
Another recent vacation I went to was Vieques island off the coast of the main island Puerto Rico. The island also had beautiful beaches and great restaurants. Something that makes me like Vieques more than Turks and Caicos is that Vieques had culture. There at Vieques was the best restaurant I have ever been to. The restaurant’s name was Duffy’s. My favorite food on the menu was crab cakes, I love crab cakes. The restaurant next to Duffy’s was called Bananas. Bananas were always full of people so we tried our best to stay away from people because our trip was during the Omicron period. One of my favorite things that we did at Vieques was see the bioluminescent bay. In the bay at night time, if you put movement in the water, the water would glow.
Earlier that day of the bio bay me, my mom, and my sister went on a horseback riding beach trail ride. Something different about that trail ride and a regular one is that this trail ride was on the beach! I had so much fun in Vieques!
Did you think that my trip was over, if you did then you were wrong! After our week in Vieques we went to mainland Puerto Rico! We were going to stay in Puerto Rico for 3 days, then we would officially go back home. We had the time of our lives! We went to beaches, we went to restaurants, and we had so much fun! On the night before we went back home we had to stay up. (Our flight was at 2 in the morning) Late at night my dad got a text. The text said that the flight was canceled! My dad and grandpa had to go to the airport right then and there and talk to the workers that worked on that flight. Luckily we got another flight later that day that we thought we were going to take. When we got to the airport it turned out that it was a double flight and half of the flight was going to be in chicago. The flight would have been good if there was not a snow storm there at the time we would be there! My dad quickly thought and had an idea, the plane was overbooked and the company would give a free if we re-booked one of their different flights. The one problem was that the flight was in three days and we would have nowhere to stay. My dad talked to the workers again and they said that we could use an airport hotel to stay in for those three days. My dad accepted and we had more days to relax. Those days were awesome! My mom got to go to a beach she really wanted to go to and we got money! That was the best vacation ever! When it was time to go on the plane and officially leave this wonderful paradise our flight was delayed. There was ice on the runway so we had to wait three more hours. Finally we got on the plane and our vacation was over.
